Arkady Fomin
Arkady Fomin joined the Dallas Symphony Orchestra in 1975. A native of Riga, Latvia, Fomin began studying violin with Voldemar Sturestep at the age of eight. He earned his master's degree from Latvian Conservatory, toured as a soloist with the Latvian State Philharmonic and served as principal violinist with the Latvian Philharmonic Chamber Orchestra. In addition to the Dallas Symphony Orchestra, Fomin is artistic director of the New Conservatory of Dallas and conservatory of Music in the Mountains in Durango, Colorado. He also is violinist with the acclaimed chamber group Clavier Trio. He is often presented in solo recitals, chamber music and radio broadcasts.
