Richland college Enrichment series
A Century of Symphonies: July 19-August 2 (Mondays, from 1:30-3pm)
The past 100 years has seen an explosion of symphonic music that has forever altered the definition of the art form. This course will take a close look at some of the game-changing music by such masters as Mahler, Bartok, Messiaen, Shostakovich, Samuel Barber, and John Adams. Along the way, we will also examine the role that the DSO has played (and continues to play) in shaping the symphony of today.
Presenter: Jamie Allen, DSO Director of Education
